Your TCG Mark username is read-only after signup. In practice, your public handle also becomes locked once your username has been set.
What is the difference between a username and a handle?
TCG Mark uses two related but distinct identifiers:
Username: set during signup and displayed as a locked value in your profile
Handle: the public profile handle used for your public profile URL
If your account already has a username and an existing public profile, the app blocks handle changes.
How to set your username during signup
You choose your username during the TCG Mark onboarding process. Here are the rules:
Must be 3 to 20 characters long
Can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens
Cannot start or end with a hyphen
Cannot contain consecutive hyphens (e.g., "my--name")
Cannot be a reserved or blocked term
Must be unique β no two members can share the same username
If the username you want is already taken, TCG Mark will suggest up to three available alternatives based on your choice.
Can I change my username after signup?
No. The current profile UI explicitly shows that your username cannot be changed after signup.
Handle changes are also blocked once a username is set and a public profile already exists.
When can the handle still be edited?
The handle can be updated only during initial profile creation before the locked username/profile relationship is established.
Handle formatting rules are:
3 to 30 characters
Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
Cannot start or end with a hyphen
Cannot contain consecutive hyphens
Must not be blocked or already in use
Why are some usernames blocked?
TCG Mark blocks certain usernames to maintain a safe and professional community. Blocked usernames include:
Reserved system names β Such as "admin", "support", "tcgmark", and "moderator"
Inappropriate content β Usernames containing offensive or obscene language are automatically rejected
If you see a message that says "This username is not available," it may be blocked for one of these reasons.
