How Sales Tax Is Calculated

How TCG Mark calculates sales tax at checkout based on your shipping address.

Updated today

TCG Mark collects sales tax where required by law. Sales tax is calculated automatically at checkout based on your shipping address, so you'll always see the exact tax amount before you confirm your order.

How sales tax calculation works

When you check out, TCG Mark uses your shipping address to determine which tax rates apply to your order. Tax rates are calculated at the state, county, city, and district level, giving you an accurate tax amount based on where your order is being shipped.

Sales tax is calculated using Stripe Tax, which ensures compliance with current tax laws across all US jurisdictions.

What determines your tax amount

Your sales tax is based on:

  • Your shipping address β€” The state, county, and city you're shipping to determine the applicable tax rates

  • Item prices β€” Tax is calculated on the subtotal of your items

  • Shipping costs β€” Some jurisdictions also tax shipping charges

Tax is calculated per seller package, so each package in your order may have a different tax amount based on the items and shipping costs in that package.

Where tax appears at checkout

You'll see your tax amount during checkout before you confirm your order. The tax is displayed alongside the item subtotal and shipping costs as part of your total order amount.

After your order is placed, the tax breakdown is included in your order details for your records.

Tax for multi-seller orders

If you're buying from multiple sellers, sales tax is calculated separately for each seller's package. The total tax you see at checkout is the sum of the tax from each individual package in your order.

US orders only

Sales tax is currently calculated for orders shipped within the United States. TCG Mark does not currently support international orders.
