Understanding Shipping Rates at Checkout

How TCG Mark calculates shipping rates per seller package at checkout, including tracked shipping rules.

Updated today

TCG Mark calculates shipping at checkout per seller package. Sellers do not directly set a custom shipping charge on each listing.

How shipping is calculated

The shipping logic uses platform rules that consider:

  • Card count

  • Package weight

  • Package value

  • Seller risk rules for tracked shipping

The system then filters to eligible rates for that package.

Tracked shipping rules

Tracked shipping is required when any shipping-policy rule applies, including:

  • Package value meets the tracked-shipping threshold

  • The seller is a newer seller and the lower threshold applies

  • The seller's loss rate is high enough to require tracking

  • The seller already has too many untracked shipments in transit

Shipping methods in the current platform

The platform ships around a set of method tiers such as:

  • Plain White Envelope

  • Bubble Mailer

  • Bubble Mailer Heavy

  • USPS Ground Advantage

  • USPS Ground Advantage Medium

What sellers will see on orders

On the seller order page, TCG Mark can show the shipping method display name, carrier, whether the method is tracked, base postage, packaging fee, total shipping cost, and estimated delivery window.
