Notification Types: What Each One Means

A breakdown of mandatory and optional notification categories on TCG Mark and what each one covers.

Updated today

TCG Mark currently groups notifications by category instead of asking you to manage every notification one by one.

Mandatory notification categories

These categories are treated as required and are not normal optional toggles:

  • Orders & Shipping

  • Disputes & Returns

  • Subscription

  • Account & Security

These exist so you still receive important updates about purchases, refunds, billing, and account safety.

Optional in-app notification categories

You can turn these categories on or off in your notification settings:

Friends & Social

Examples include:

  • Friend requests

  • Accepted friend requests

  • Friend request reminders

Listings & Sales

Examples include:

  • New sales

  • Listing published

  • Listing expiring

  • Listing expired

  • Listing removed

Seller Dashboard

Examples include:

  • Seller onboarding complete

  • Seller onboarding restricted

  • Seller onboarding reminders

  • Payout processed

  • Payout failed

Watchlist

Examples include:

  • Price drop alerts for saved listings

  • Watched item sold

  • Wants list match notifications

Reviews

Examples include:

  • New review received

  • Review reminders

Community

The backend also supports community notifications such as likes, replies, reposts, followers, and mentions.

Email categories are simpler

Email settings are more condensed than in-app settings. Instead of separate toggles for each activity type, the app mainly groups email preferences into:

  • Security & Orders

  • Notifications

  • Marketing & Promotions
